Resolutions Checkpoint: February 2015

February certainly felt shorter than other months, but that's because I basically only ended up having half the month.

I was in Mexico from February 12-19, and then got really sick upon my return, which kept me in bed for another week. Seriously—I was living from my bed, and only just took my second shower since Mexico on Friday.

And now here we are, at the end of the month, and I have so many unfinished tasks it's kind of embarrassing. But here we go!

Let's start with the progress I made towards each of my three 2015 resolutions, based on the tasks I gave myself last month. Completed tasks are in bold.

February Progress

1. Reach a high intermediate level of French.
  • Create a chart to track daily practice (10 min/day) - I missed my daily practice while I was in Mexico and while sick, but did a good job of practicing on FluentU at the start of the month.
  • Label verbs (in yellow post-its) in my bedroom.
  • Label kitchen items in French.
  • Research language immersion schools in France and choose a program to attend this spring or summer.

2. Diversify my income to three sources.
  • List five books online to sell.
  • List the trombone on craigslist to sell.
  • Spend at least 3 hours/week on my Korean food guide.
  • Brainstorm two more fiverr gigs to offer.
  • Bought You Need a Budget and have been using it consistently (and loving it—future post for sure!).
  • Did my federal taxes, and set myself up to pay in taxes quarterly this year since I'm self-employed.

3. Eat a whole foods, plant-based diet; improve digestion.

2015 Tid-bits
  • I read 3 books this month: Patti Smith's "Just Kids," Bill Bryson's "A Walk in the Woods" and Paulo Coelho's "Once minutos."

March Focus

Here are some specifics to accomplish during the next four weeks:

1. Reach a high intermediate level of French.
  • Study French for 10 minutes a day, and track on yellow sheet.
  • Book 4-6 weeks at the language school in Montpellier.
  • Find and book studio/room for 2 months in Montpellier on AirB&B.
  • Buy plane ticket to France.

2. Diversify my income to three sources.
  • Do state taxes
  • List 5 books online to sell.
  • List 5 more books online to sell.
  • List trombone on craigslist.
  • Force yourself to finish the draft of this freaking Korean food guide!

3. Eat a whole foods, plant-based diet; improve digestion.
  • Re-watch "Forks Over Knives" or watch "Simply Raw"
  • Make a recipe from Cookie and Kate
  • Make a new spiralized recipe
  • Make a dessert with dates and T.J.'s food processor
